Change will do you good

Christmas was good. Miles and I got lots of nice stuff, and we had some nice times with family. There were some things that I would have liked to have happened and didn't, but I suppose that was to be expected.

The start of the new year hasn't been enviable. If you've read Sherri's blog, you'll know that I've gone back to work again. The transition really hasn't been that bad. It takes some organization, which thank goodness, both Sherri and I rather thrive on. It can be rather tiring, but that's mostly because I haven't been able to get used to going to bed earlier yet. It is sad when the family finishes supper and I realize I only have one more hour with Miles before his bedtime. I only get 2 hours and 45 minutes a day with him now!!! That's ridiculous! But I have no other choice - I have to work. I just keep telling myself, millions of others have done it, I can do it too. Miles is doing very well though, and I'm sure he's loving being able to hang out with his Aunt Sherri and cousin Jonah every day. It's sure not stunting his growth. Check out this very recent picture. He's wearing Size 3 pajamas here. SIZE 3!!! He's only 13 1/2 months old for crying out loud!

Holy schmokes, what's going on?

This is a little insano, wouldn't you say? I guess I've just made up for my lack of blogging recently.

As we are now a week away from Christmas, I would like to remind you about this post. I'm going to re-read it myself right now.

Now let us all eat cake! Cheers! And Merry Christmas!

At a loss

I haven't blogged much lately, and I don't mean just writing - I haven't even kept up on the reading portion. I don't know why. I don't have any reasons or excuses. That's just how it is. So I was sitting here thinking that I should write up a new blog post sometime soon....but about what? Nothing was coming to mind, so I Googled (don't you love how that's a word understood by nearly everyone now? haha!) "blogging ideas" and came up with a little something. I landed on this list of 10 Ways to Create Content for Your Weblog, and Way #9 struck a chord.

9) Be a Sleuth! Are there things that you've always wondered about but
never found the opportunity to get the facts? You might have asked yourself one
or more of the following questions at one time or another: "How do you build an
igloo?" "What are the different species of spiders?" or "Who is the richest
woman in the world?" Well, now might be a good time to get your detective or
research skills in to action. Check search engines, almanacs, and other sources
of information. Then, start blogging your findings!
I've been wondering what Trackbacks are. Have you seen that word at the bottom of people's blogs? It's on mine and I don't even know what it means! But I've done some research now and I think I've got the hang of it.

Basically, it's simply a way of letting a person know that you've added a link to their blog in your own.

I was going to test using trackbacks, but after some further research, I found out that Blogger doesn't support them! What the...???

Oh well. At least this exercise helped me find something to write about!

No more clowning around

Have you ever heard of actor Marc Favreau?

How about Sol the hobo clown?

Check out this story. Is this the clown that we used to see little film clips of in French class, and see on TV as well? The name Sol sounds familiar to me...

We're having a potty

I've just recently started getting Miles to sit on his potty again. He's taller now and more steady on his feet, and I think that makes him more comfortable sitting on the potty. He was quite content to sit and look at his book on this day... he even left me a little piddle puddle too. I know they say that children aren't physically able to use the potty until they are at least 18 months old, but do any of you parents have stories about good things happening before that age?
